BYOD / DEED
BYOD is a creative studio specializing in the design and media activation of digital brand personas (DBPs) for purpose-driven enterprises. For this creative initiative, I partnered with BYOD and DEED, a community and corporate volunteering platform to design a CGI brand influencer for their social media platforms. CGI influencers are increasingly showing promising results as engagement-drivers for lifestyle brands among the digital generations.
Similarly, social activism and corporate responsibility are values held dearly to millennial and Gen Z customers today. Brands can’t afford to make empty promises when it comes to giving back to communities. With the intention of creating a more authentic and meaningful social media brand experience, I partnered with BYOD and DEED to apply, test, and learn the value-added benefits of designing and activating a digital brand influencer that champions the act of giving back to the community.
While 65% of customers have expressed an interest in purpose enterprises, only 45% of them can actually name an organization that is making a difference in society.
Strategy
Analyzing DEED’s social media performance and app users helped me accurately design a persona that reflected their target demographics. Everything from Sofia’s name, age, ethnicity, style-aesthetics, tone, and voice were crafted based on user research insights. These insights aided the development of an influencer persona that embodied DEED’s brand values and purpose.
Deliverable
A Brand Playbook was created for DEED in order to understand when and how to implement Sofia in their social media content strategy along with influencer communication guidelines. Instagram content was created with Sofia to promote engagement on DEED’s platform and community volunteering events.
